Reborn Process The transformation of a new arrival to Cream Puff Babies Nursery is unique and different with each individual baby. Our goal is to make each and every baby appear as real as possible. Each one starts out with a warm bath. Then special care is given to color the vinyl using a variety of coloring techniques and Genesis heat set paints. Each one is created differently depending on the texture of the vinyl and the outcome I’m trying to achieve. Realistic detail is accentuated on each baby. Eyes- Most of the time I leave the original eye color because they have a very realistic newborn blue color already, but on occasion I may change the color. Delicate little eyelashes are applied or micro-rooted to match the hair color. Nose-I carefully open the baby’s nose to give him / her an even more real look.
Mouth-The mouth and lip color are changed to a more natural shade and sealed with a satin sealer. Eyebrows-tiny brush stroke eyebrows are done to match hair color Nails-Each little finger and toe nail is lightly tipped and sealed with a satin acrylic finish for durability.
Hair-Most of my babies have micro-rooted baby soft mohair because I feel this gives them a more realistic look.
Veining-Detailed veining is put on the baby’s tiny little hands/arms and legs/feet. Bluish undertones are added to the appropriate areas. This applies more realism and detail to the baby that really makes his/her newborn skin appear multi-dimensional and come to life. Each Cream Puff Baby is gently stuffed with a fluffy soft Polyfil and weighted in all the right places. Emphasizing the head and tushy area, but also the arms / hands and legs / feet. This realistic feel means the babies head will need to be supported just like a real baby’s head would. The finishing touch of bringing the baby to life with a comfortable newborn outfit, sleeper, or gown is another one of my favorite parts. Each baby gets a diaper and onesie. And depending on the outfit chosen for him/her other accessories may include a newborn cap, socks/booties, shoes, pacifier, bib, rattle / stuffed animal, receiving blanket, etc.
Tummy & Tushy Plates-on occasion I make a tummy and/or tushy plate to go with an individual baby. These are simply tucked in the diaper and under the shirt/onesie of the baby to give even more ways to display the baby.
Magnet Umbilical Cord with clamp-sometimes I include a magnet umbilical cord that can be used for more display options
Magnet Paci-these give more options for displaying the babies
I take many pictures of a variety of angles and positions to show the detail of how each baby looks and can be postioned.
These are “One-of-a Kind Babies" to be handed down from generation to generation. I sign and date each baby on the back of his/her neck. |
