Benny’s Tiny Journey
"Aww such a tiny little guy” is what one might say when they see Benny.
A sculpt of a baby born far too early, Baby Benny weighs just 2 pounds 3 ounces and measures only 13 inches with his little legs curled beneath him. He is a true micro-preemie.
But even though Benny is small, he is a fighter.
He spent his earliest days tucked carefully into the quiet world of the neonatal intensive care unit of our nursery where he was carefully and meticulously brought to life.
His little body is covered in the delicate details of a premature newborn.
His skin so delicate that the subtle painted veins beneath it can be seen just as they might on an extremely premature newborn.
And through it all, Benny sleeps.
His peaceful expression never changes.
His premium mohair hair was lightly rooted across his tiny head, soft and wispy. His eyelashes were equally delicate, framing those peacefully closed eyes. His little fingernails and toenails were carefully tipped, adding another tiny detail to his remarkably lifelike appearance.
Benny's favorite time is cuddle time.
Once he’s carefully wrapped in his soft fleece blanket, he seems especially content.
